Professional Camera and Tabletop light
Professional Camera and Tabletop lightThis works well on top of a camera as well as for tabletop product shots given the excellent control. There’s a very good carry case which holds all the components comfortably. That includes a charging cable, hex key, diffuser, grid, magnetic camera mount, and tabletop tripod with its own magnetic mount.The magnetic mount has a grip and holds the light securely in place without risk of the magnetic mount being pulled off. Additionally, the camera back has an extremely strong magnet allowing you to mount it on any metal item in the field whether that’s a pole, a refrigerator or the inside of a car. This allows for lighting in some difficult situations where mounting may not be possible.The tripod is metal and has some extension but there’s no ability to rotate or tilt the head so you’ll have to use the legs to adjust or angle the light.The light itself is a powerful bi-color light which is brighter than many of its similarly sized competitors. This is further extended with its boost function when you need to push it a bit harder.There’s a fan that might become noticeable at full power and even more so during boost mode but generally this is not the kind of light that would be near a microphone so I don’t find that an issue. If it is an issue there’s a menu option to run in silent mode that limits the brightness in the process.Its Bluetooth easily connects with the Amaran app making it easy to control without having to risk physically touching the light. The app itself can control multiple lights if you have multiple Amaran lights. It can control them as a group or individually.The temperature range is a useful 2700k to 6500k. Additionally, it has the usual array of FX from fireworks to TV flicker. The menu system is brightly colored and icon-based making it extremely intuitive to use. There’s a downloadable PDF manual but once you recognize the icons you generally won’t need to refer to it.The buttons are simple with a power slider, a menu dial with a push-to-accept function and a back button which also can save a custom button setting to quickly access a feature.The gird does a great job cutting spill. It and the diffuser magnetically attach to the light with a strong grip. It actually does take some effort to pull them off so they should stay put even if you’re doing a bit of run-and-gun shooting as the light is sitting on your camera.One novel feature is the light can be used to charge other items. In the menu, there’s an Output function that changes the USB-C port from charging the light to an output in which you can charge other devices. It’s odd to think of a light as a device to charge your smartphone but it’s nonetheless possible.This is a standout professional kit and extremely bright light for the size which puts it ahead of the competition. It would be the mini light to get.

Sturdy and Well-Constructed Light Kit for Aspiring Creators
While Iâm still relatively new to photography and content creation, I can already tell that this is a solid piece of equipment. The kit comes with everything you need to get started, including the light control grid, a mini tripod, and a carrying case. Iâve been impressed by how well itâs constructed – everything feels durable and high-quality, giving me confidence that this will last as I continue to grow in the hobby.Although I donât have much experience with lighting yet, I appreciate how easy it is to set up. The quick-release mount allows me to assemble and disassemble the light in seconds, which is a huge time-saver. The light output in Boost Mode is powerful, and Iâm excited to experiment with it as I develop my skills. I also like that it has a long battery life and can even be used to charge other devices in a pinch.I’m still learning how to use all the features, like the app control and custom shortcuts, but the user-friendly design makes it easy to explore as I get more comfortable with my photography. I’m looking forward to incorporating this light into my content creation as I continue to practice and improve.

A very good combination of portable light
Excellent light!The light comes with too many functions, I don’t know if I would ever need all of them. The light is good and easy to use. I would say the most basic function with light temperature and light strength need to be adjust by pressing multiple buttons are a little annoying. Otherwise the light is very solid.It comes with soften covers, supports, and adapters for industy standard connections. Very good ones.It also comes with a bag to have all the things carried and protected.The battery life is good enough, and it can be charged at a very fast speed.

Very Nice Light For Photography In My Dim Apartment
The brightness on this light is excellent! It has improved my pup videos & pictures SO MUCH! It works great mans comes with an amazing tripod for it as well. You can adjust the range of light from warm white to bright white and is super easy to use. I also love the special fx functions as well. Everything about this light is amazing EXCEPT the battery. This could def have a better battery as it doesnât not last long at all if you leave it on. And I feel like it takes all day to charge. Took off one star because of the battery.Also comes with a really nice travel bag to protect the light which makes it super portable and easy to bring with you on the go.

Good quality as usual
Very nice portable light pack from Amaran. The extra grid and diffuser really bump up the utility over other battery pack soft lights. It is relatively small but throws light far and wide for video work without the extra modifiers. The screen is very nice, and adjustment of CCT and brightness is simple. I probably won’t use the FX features very often as they are much better on an actual RGB light since the color temperature range here is a limiting factor. Still nice to have, and they work as expected. The color temperatures themselves seem faithful to the K value, and are a nice range for daylight and warm colors.I was a little worried that the proprietary quick release mount had to be used, but there is a standard 1/4-20 thread as well. Both mounting options are metal and good quality.

This lighting system is PERFECT!! It has everything you need…. A powerful rechargeable battery, cooling fan, magnetic honeycomb diffuser, magnetic soft box diffuser, magnetic quick release base, a very unique but handy telescoping tripod and a padded case that keeps everything in a nice little package. The light is super bright for such a small device. Extremely precise adjustments AND an app that can control not only this light, but the other Amaran lights that I already own. For this small portable light, I would give a solid 5 stars.

Love it, bright and easy to control, the App works great, allowing you to manage all the lights together.The spill light mesh works and prevents light spreading, and the stand makes it great for on the spot product photography.The battery charges by PD and the voltage is displayed while display – super cool.The light can double as a battery output too, I got 6W on the output, nothing great, note, the light can’t be used when outputting power.

The Amaran Ace 25X is a decent portable light for video. It puts out a good amount of light, at 6300 lux max, but in practice I typically use an on-camera light like this for very subtle fill light so it is rarely above 20 percent brightness.A unique feature of this video light magnetic quick-release mount. It makes attaching and detaching the light very fast.I usually avoid camera-mounted lights that have any sort of cooling fan due to potential noise, but since I only use this at low power settings the fan never has to come on.

This new Amaran Light is basically a budget version of Aputures MC Pro yet maintains a lot of the function of the MC Pro (larger surface area, stronger magnets, higher output and mainly the magnetic attachments) for the price of an MC. The build quality is very solid for plasticy material and it has a good finish and stylish look for the whole creator type market. The magnets are strong enough to stick to a fridge or flat metal surfaces firmly and a little less but still solid on partial bars like ceiling tile braces or the corner edges of metal reinforced drywall. This makes it as useful as the MCs for placing anywhere you need on the go. The diffuser and grid are fantastic and so quick to use. I dont personally reach for the included tripod a lot, but the quick release is fast and effective and for simple setups on the go (again, creator focused) I can see it being useful. Unfortunately no Sidus Link contectivity but thats the tradeoff for the good value with the Amaran series. The light quality and control is great on the unit itself anyways, I wont ever touch the app. This is a great addition to my kit as an MC owner who just wants that one hairlight/kicker with a grid/diff on it without having to tape up an MC or waste time flagging it manually.
