Will the heat deflector be hot when in use?
YES! Do not touch any part of the heat deflector when in use. It will be extremely hot. Children should always be under parental supervision when around the fire pit and heat deflector. Always treat heat deflector like an open flame.
When can the heat deflector be removed from the fire pit? | How do I cool it down?
Let your heat deflector cool naturally and completely before attempting to move any component of the setup. Using heat-resistant Gloves, the heat deflector can be removed from the cooling fire pit and placed in a safe place to cool down separately.
How do you clean the heat deflector, and how often should you clean it?
With preventative care, cleaning sessions should be few and far between. We recommend polishing its surfaces with Barkeepers Friend and a dry cloth. Always ensure that it is completely dry before storing to prevent surface rust.

How much heat will the Mesa Heat Deflector put off?
To get the optimal heat dispersion use it in calm conditions and at a normal table height. The heat deflector is meant to send heat outwards, and can increase ambient temperatures by up to 14°C for the Mesa XL (12° for Mesa).

What a difference maker
I love my solo stove mesa xl. Itâs an easy way to have a nice fire that puts out a good amount of heat. But on the cooler nights in Ohio I was wanting to get the most out of my solo stove, and this heat deflector is a game changer. It pushes all the heat from the fire out towards you and very little heat is wasted out the top. I got it on sale and would 100% pay full price for this addition.

A must have item for all Solo Stoves – the deflector really is a game changer.The deflector is brilliant, east to put together and makes a huge difference to the surrounding area’s warmth distribution.Buy this for your Mesa you won’t be disappointed.Be aware, it is directly above the fire so does get some soot on it, this soot does stay on the underside of the deflector and will make your hands dirty if you pick up the deflector.It comes with a great oversized carry bag which is big enough to fit the Mesa and deflector in together or I use it to carry enough wood in with the deflector for a couple of fires with the Mesa in it’s own carry bag.
