Cornhole, anyone? I got your cornhole right here.
Cornhole?? Really? Who thought of this name? My buddies and I had fun just with the name for days (cornholin; imma cornhole you up; i “heart” cornhole). I had only played this game once for a few minutes at a tailgate party years ago and didn’t think all that much of it, but upon further review… this game is seriously addicting, esp in the right environmental and with beer. I searched for a while for a set before finally deciding on this one for a camping trip to Yosemite. Learned so much in the process – like the fact that this one is “regulation size” and that there is such a thing as the ACA (yup, American Cornhole Association) – and that these things can get pretty pricy. After playing on this one, I sure am glad I didn’t cut costs by getting a smaller, cheaper one for about $60-$75. Regulation size is the way to go, because points are scored not only for cornholes, but also if the bag stays on the board – and with a 3 foot long board or smaller (like most of the mini sets are), I imagine it would be almost impossible for the bean bags to stay on the board. The bags slide on these too, but with the proper toss they will stay on the board and do so frequently. To me, the fact that it is slippery makes the game more challenging, as t makes scoring points is more difficult and knocking opponents bags off also becomes a bigger part of the game as well. These boards also bounce a bit, but not so bad that it affects gameplay (the playing surface plays a role on that too). Some have complained about the rim around the cornhole, but to me no impact there either. When I first opened it up, one of the hinges was dented – likely from transport – so I couldn’t open up one of the boards without first hammering the metal hinge back up to a straightened position. This only took 5 minutes though so I’m not going to deduct for this, but I imagine that’s why this product is currently “under review” by amazon, because of the shipping/packaging. Regardless, I highly recommend this kit, and I’m so glad I got it. We played it for hours at our campsite and our neighbors would often stop by to watch cause we were having so much damn fun, some of whom were foreigners and would just stare for long periods trying to figure out why we were enjoying ourselves so much… but that just made us feel like star athletes. The next day we set it up by the a river and played for a few more hours – addicting I tell you – so they are easy to transport, albeit large. Oh the bean bags were of good quality too, well made with good heft. Next year, I’m gonna find a way to lug these to the top of Half Dome and cornhole up there! On second thought… maybe not, but that would be the ultimate cornhole venue.

Sturdy
Canât wait to play when weather gets better. Much better than wood ones that warp. A bit pricey, but waited until it was discounted

Exactly what we wanted!
Comparable regulation dimensions in a easily portable, lightweight, well constructed, all around set for having fun playing cornhole at the beach, backyard, and tailgating. First day, pulled it straight out of the box, set up in under a minute, played for hours. We were anxious to see the difference playing on this set versus the massive wooden tournament set we had. While we have no aspirations (or delusions) of becoming cornhole professionals we are still quite competitive and wanted a set with somewhat regulation dimensions. The differences we noted are minimal and we certainly had as much fun as on the wooden set. Actually, more so as we didn’t have to lug the 40+ pound each wooden boards back to the garage. Just stowed bags inside the frames, folded, clasped, and carried in like large square briefcases.I have included the following measurements of this set. For anyone interested they could compare them to the American Cornhole Organization (ACO) website. Each Cornhole Board Platform is 23 1/2″ x 47 1/4″ with a 5 3/4″ diameter hole (including it’s plastic edge guard), centered 9″ from top of board and centered 12″ from each side edge. The front of the board is 1 1/2″ from the ground to the top of the playing surface. The back of the board is 12â from the ground to the top of the playing surface. This set has 8 bags (4 red, 4 blue). Each bag is made from a single twill fabric rectangle folded into a square stiched on three sides and double-stitched 3/4 way down one side. Each bag measures roughly 5 1/2″ square and weigh 10.4 to 10.6 ounces.According to the Mfg. “If your bags get dirty from playing outdoors, they can be hand washed with soap and hot water (they are filled with plastic, not corn, so they will not rot).”If the weight and/or construction of the bags is a concern an extra set of regulation (15 to 16 oz., all double-stitched sides) bags could be substituted. In my humble opinion the bag set included is an acceptable “family weight” set good for everyone including younger, smaller, and older players.Weight of one board platform is 11.8 pounds.Folded board platform 23 5/8″ square. (Approx. 24 1/16″ across the sides including the handle)Also note there are very slight raised edges around the perimeter of the board playing surface and the hole. These edges and the seam in the board center did not appear to hinder bag movement or play.

First game, the bean bag put a dent and broke one of the boards

Have had mine for over a year (1 full season) and can tell it is of good quality. I used it a fair bit and everything is holding up well. Fold up design with handle is a great feature – they are fairly heavy so makes mobility relatively easy. I would recommend the ring lights option – extends your playing time (you’ll still want some area lighting however). Bags are a good size and sturdy – makes gameplay better. Platforms are a solid build. Not cheap but you get what you pay for in this case.
