Makes Gardening COOL – Hey Wasn’t it Always?
South Florida gardeners are hardcore – today was 95 degrees but I was able to tend to new plants, mulch beds and more because I had a damp Froggtogg on my head. It works best with warm water (evaporates faster than cold water) but I loved I could just use hose water to resoak it as it dried. YES you WILL notice its cool and feels great on my face as I wipe sweat away and use it to cool me down. Finally a good use for sweat! Its a bit spongy like more than fabric feeling but honestly I don’t care what the fabric is if it helps me stay cool in the Florida sun.

Well worth it, Disney/Summer heat!
My teen daughter and I loved these for Disneyland in the summer. We felt like we definitely had a super power advantage over everyone else. They stay wet and you can wring water from the neck part to redistribute to the ends. If you keep water with you, you can easily re-wet. When the sun was super hot we used them in what we started calling ‘cape mode’ vs.’sport mode’ they are so large you can drape them around your shoulders as a cool barrier from the sun, otherwise we’d just hang around our necks. Used pant hangers to hang them dry each night (like a straight stiff sheet). I didn’t think my daughter would go for it, but I got lavender and we could actually spot each other so much easier in large crowds and they didn’t look bad. Loved so much I purchased for relatives in the high desert (extreme heat). They loved them too! WELL worth it. We basically felt sorry for people who were purchasing little thin ones from the Disneyland stores, wouldn’t hold a candle to these highly absorbent cooling towels. Use ice water for an extra chill.

Need to read instruction carefully to âactivateâ and store this towel. When dried out, cloths stick together and cannot easily separated. Using force would damage the towel.

LIFE-CHANGING for serious gardeners!!
If you’re outside in the summer doing ANYTHING and you can’t tolerate the heat, YOU NEED THIS!!I have a VERY large garden (imagine it on the level of a real Botanical Garden!!) and since we moved in 2 years ago, I have been ABSOLUTELY overwhelmed by the summer heat and I actually avoided going out for weeks at a time and the weeds would just get taller than me!! This towel is an absolute life (and garden) changer!! It is literally miraculous – especially if you perspire a lot. And it lasts for HOURS, AT LEAST 4!! SIMPLY MIRACULOUS!I have a few different styles: the Chilly pad towel in this listing, which I drape around my neck and it keeps my neck and chest cool (I also use it to cool my face by just patting my face with it – so much better than just a regular cloth!) and I have the wrap style with the hole that you tuck one side in and it stays secure – I wrap this one around my head (including my ears!) and I can’t express enough what a difference it makes. I bought my husband the bandana style and now he wants a towel as well and I’ve just ordered another one for the woman who occasionally helps in the garden – she will be thrilled, I’m sure!

Florida Necessity
I purchased one of these for my husband who can’t take the Florida heat. (no can’t take the heat get out of the kitchen joke here) When I saw how this worked I immediately purchased one for myself. I go to Disney a lot ( And walking in the Florida sun gets BLAZING HOT!!!! ) and this works perfectly. Just add water, twist the excess and you have instant comfort. A friend has one but said these were thicker than his and was very impressed with the quality. My husband is a big guy and I wish it was a little longer but my mistake for not looking at the size. It still works for him and he doesn’t leave the house without it. We keep a bottled water in the car to keep it wet when we travel. If I had to say how long between having to wet it, it would depend on how hot it was where you were using it and your comfort level. Out on the boat, my husband is adding more water to the cloth than I do. The fact that it really works, the quality is exceptional, and the price is spot on, I would highly recommend this to anyone needing some relief from the heat. ( My husband even wears his when he plays poker at his friends house because the guy doesn’t like turning up the air conditioning.)

When I purchased the Chilly Pad, I was very skeptical of its great reviews. I am an avid outdoorsman that always seems to overheat during the summer. I used to put a wet bandanna under my baseball cap, but it just made a wet, dripping mess and didn’t stay cool for long. However with the Chilly Pad, it soaks up a ton of water, is big enough to cover both the top of my head and the entire back of my neck and stay cool for a couple hours before I have to wet it again, even in the 100+ degree temps of the desert Southwest.When I don’t want my entire head covered, I just fold it up the the length I want and use it just around my neck or tie it around my head like a bandanna. Even if I don’t have cold water to wet it, the sublimation/evaporation process makes it feel cool. I would even say this saved my life when I suddenly was hit with heatstroke and only had half of a hot canteen full of warm water. I poured half of it on the Chilly Pad and drank the other half and within a half-hour, I felt good enough to continue my hike out to potable water and safety three hours later.I cant say enough good things about the Chilly Pad. It’s light, inexpensive, compact, durable, effective and versatile. I will be ordering several more of these in the very near future.

I love this product although it arrived in PINK not purple. Ironically I wanted pink to match my wrist bands anyway so maybe the Amazon packer read my mind! The product itself is excellent. We get a lot of heat waves in the summer so this works great just to drape around your back and shoulders or chest and shoulders to help cool down. You can also wrap it around you legs, arms etc – anywhere that is feeling particularly hot. This might be beneficial for someone with a heat rash or hives as it soft, cool, wet and feels great on your skin. It comes in a plastic reusable sealed tube – you store it wet so it is ready to use whenever you need it as well as it travels well in a beach bag, backpack etc. After buying this through Amazon, I have since found this same brand/product in outdoor sports stores but was happy to see I saved a couple bucks buying it through Amazon! This would also make a great gift idea for someone athletic or who spends a lot of time in hot climates, work environments etc. It stays cool for hours – as it dries out, I either spritz mine with a water bottle to keep it moist or submerge for a minute in a sink/bowl of water. Washes nicely by hand with mild soap and water.
