Quality made is worth the extra money.
I rarely write a review the day I get an item. But in this case I think it’s deserved. The quality is very good. It has very good quality fabric and is stitched well. This is according to my wife, who sews fabric almost daily. The mechanism is smooth and works very well. The tilt mechanism is easy to release and positively locks. The powder coating on the steel parts is very nice, and matches our patio furniture almost perfectly. We looked for nearly a month for a patio umbrella. Looked at all the big box stores, and different umbrellas on Amazon and other online stores. You pay a little more for this umbrella, but this one is worth it. I hope I get years of enjoyment like we did tonight.

Truly Durable and Fade-Resistant
After years in the Florida sun and weather, and after thousands of raisings and lowerings, the crank mechanism on one of my two identical patio umbrellas succumbed to the elements and stopped working, although the other shows no signs of wear. I purchased a replacement of the same model and set it up this week. The Sunbrella canvases for the two original umbrellas were warranted for five years, while the new umbrella canvas is warranted for ten years. The color of the original canvas is almost indistinguishable from the new one, as seen from the attached photo. The canvas from the “retired” umbrella shows no sign of fading, so, while discarding the pole and frame, I have retained the canvas in the remote chance that one of the other canopies is damaged.We look forward to many more years of use for these durable and fade-defying umbrellas.

High City Winds Approved
I do appreciate the vented umbrella levels for our downtown city windy area. I donât think the fabric will hold up many years. It is not Sunbrella worthy.We live in the city and get the canyon effect winds from the high rises. Easily 20+ Mph winds daily. I have the umbrella pole reinforced in a bronze shower rod tube, 25lb base, two tier cafe table and it is tethered with two bungee cords on the umbrella spines to two crepe myrtles on my patio. I donât think it is going to fly off anytime soon.

Warranty
Only had umbrella for a week so hoping it doesnât fade.Just wanted to point out that the 10 year warranty is misleading. Pamphlet that came with it shows the full price decreases every year.

Only Two Summers Of Use And It Is Already Full Of Holes
I am so disappointed in this umbrella. Previously, I had an umbrella that I ordered from the âImprovementsâ catalog that I used for over 10 years. When it finally needed to be replaced, I was sorry to see that there was no longer an Improvements catalog but had instead been bought out by QVC. So I went in search for a replacement umbrella and found this one. I liked that it had the extra vent at the top and the reviews were good so I decided to give it a try. Last summer was the second summer we had it and there were a couple of holes. This year when we put it up it was full of holes. These are not holes that were eaten away by some moth or other bug, the umbrella was always closed at the end of the day and was stored away for the winter months. The fabric is simply coming apart in places and I see no reason for this to happen. This umbrella has been treated better than the previous one, because it cost so much more. Now I am going to have to find another one after only two seasons of use. Not sure if I just got one with bad fabric or if the other reviews were given too soon, because there are a lot of good reviews!
