I recommend these to all my friends!
I love using this prayer journal! I bought one for a friend, recommended it to my church book club, and plan to order more! They are laid out by weeks with an overarching title and really make you think each day! Theyâre also beautiful. The passages are short enough that a toddler mom can find time to work through them, but long enough that you feel you really get something out of it.

Encouraging, Calming, Delightful in Every Way, Wonderful Devotional Journal
This softcover devotional book is a devotional with spaces for journaling as well. Its study is laid out very well and quite accessible with each week consisting of 5 days (not 7), but I think that the other 2 days can be used for going over oneâs completed studies for that week more in depth, if one chooses.Week 1 is a study in Atonement, Week 2 in Regeneration, Week 3 in Justification, Week 4 in Grace, Week 5 in Adoption and Week 6 in the Resurrection. Because this is a foundational study on the Gospel, the author goes over each topic in light of the Gospel with corresponding verses, with each week surrounding a particular book out of the Bible, with insights and meditative questions for the reader to consider and answer. The devotional is written in such a way that isnât like an intense study guide on only the facts, nor is it written in just a feeling-based way. Itâs written in a way that is inviting and encouraging, gentle and very nice for quiet time in studying and meditating on Godâs Word and His wonderful plan for salvation and our walk with Him girded with foundational truths. The aesthetics of the book are lovely, with a dark charcoal black background overlaid with beautiful watercolor florals in pinks. The book has a soft tactile texture that simply feels nice to hold. The fonts inside correspond with one another and apparent that a lot of thought went into even the design of that. There are spaces to journal, although I did find some of the lines didnât give me enough space to write out all of the reference passages. Itâs possible that those spaces were meant for me to write out my synopsis of the passagesâ meanings, however, which seems more likely.Perusing through the pages, I like this devotional quite a lot and find the many inclusions of Bible verse references refreshing, the authorâs writing style inviting, and the content excellent. Thanks for reading.

A Wonderful Study on the Gospel
The ESV Prayer Journal: 30 Days on the Gospel I’m a fan of.I was drawn in right away by the beauty of the cover and the material which is flexible as well as durable. The floral illustration is lovely and the compact size is favored. I can easily slip this into a bag or pocket inside a Bible cover without it taking up too much space at all. This study is meant to last for 6 weeks with 5 days of reading, contemplating, and responding. I feel this is more a personal study instead of one you’d do in a larger group setting. The homework so to speak is light and the readings are not so long that you would feel overwhelmed if you have a busy schedule.I appreciate the fact there are lined pages to record your thoughts in the journal instead of having to purchase one separately for such. The study doesn’t feel rushed at all or has a heavy amount of reading. You will need to have a Bible on hand to read certain scripture as well as chapters pertaining to the subject at hand. I like it encourages one to hope the Bible and to pray. It’s a wonderful offering in guiding a better understanding of the topic.I feel spiritual growth will be deepened with the use of this journal. Recommended.

Easy to Follow Devotional That Spans Over Six Weeks (Five Days a Week)
The Crossway ESV Prayer Journal is a good prayer journal that helps believers understand the basic themes of the Bible. The main themes covered include atonement, regeneration, justification, grace, adoption, and resurrection. Each week focuses on a small set of verses including Isaiah 53:4-6, Ezekiel 36:25-27, Romans 3:23-28, Ephesians 2:1-10, Galations 4:4-7, and 1Corinthians 15:19-26. Each chapter begins with a short overview of the passage, often gives reference to other passages that are related to the passage for the week, and then is split into five days of study of the passage. Each day features a short devotional, directions on further reading, as well as directions to mindfully pray for understanding of the verse. There is about a page per day for you to write your thoughts, and at the end of the six weeks, there is a short chapter on the summery of the gospel message. I found the book to be easy to follow and great for delving deeper into the gospel without being overwhelming. The book is suitable for both new believers in Christ as well as long time believers. It’s short, sweet, and a great way to jump start your faith, no matter where in your spiritual walk you may be.

I thought that such a well respected publisher spending good money on beautiful art work and journalling pages would make sure that there was something to meditate and journal on. The devotionals do usually include an interesting point you may not have thought of before, but there is no guidance on how to meditate on the scripture, no questions to get you thinking or ways to enter into the text. Just a devotional and then a whole page on which to write your thoughts, which I found to be not very forthcoming.
