I recently purchased the Aochuan Phone Gimbal Stabilizer, and Iâm very impressed with its performance. The setup was straightforward, and it didnât take long to get it balanced and ready to use. Overall I’m happy
I have never used a gimble before so for my first impression with this product and using a gimble I was pretty satisfied. Set up was not too difficult. Do need to download an app so it connects to your phone, the app is super basic because it is written in Chinese, but the video on how to set it all up is English spoken so that makes it nice. Very easy to follow. Like I said I have never used a gimble before so after watching the video I was able to use and understand the different features. The only thing that caused me a bit of grief was I have yet to be able to use the follow face feature to capture my dog. But I’ll play with it some more and see. It isn’t that big of a deal, but if I was using it to build a social media page for her, that might be a different story. All I’m all, it’s a great little product. The battery life seems really good, I love the appearance. Very sleek and stylish and makes me appear that I am an official vlogger, which I’m not. When using the tripod it is very stable. Not easy to fall over.

Not Samsung-Friendly
I bought this for high quality blogging. It is very nice quality, sturdy and has a nice appearance to it. I seriously wanted to love it and keep it. I can’t judge the battery life since I returned it hours after it was delivered but it arrived to me 70% charged. It’s not too light and not too heavy. You can tell it was made with quality in mind.While it was simple and straightforward to use, it doesn’t allow ‘Tracking’ while in 4K or 1080p for 60 FPS, on a Samsung S23 or S20+ 5G. Both phones have 4k capabilities and one is 8k BTW.Furthermore, cannot use ‘Tracking’ outside of the ‘Gimbal App’ either, which is not the best quality.I don’t feel like this item is great value for my money. If it’s only going to be limited to Android phones that were released last year (like 1-3 models) and for iPhone 11-15, might as well just advertise it as a Apple product so us Samsung users know not to waste our money. I ended up purchasing a different Gimbal off Tiktok that had the AI smart Tracking Thingamajig that you clip onto your phone that makes all smart phones compatible with it. For the price I purchased the Gimbal off Amazon, you’d of thought it had that built-in! Make sure you check out the reviews or use Rufus to determine if your phone is compatible!

Decent hardware let down by a non functional app.
The hardware, itself, is nice and has a good quality feel to it, but is too small to accommodate a phone in it’s case, so maybe better to use only with old phones. I bought this in order to get stabilized footage to motion track in Blender. Although the stabilization is decent and I feel it may be well suited to this purpose, if I decide to expand my use case, it will fall short due to the fact that the app will not even open on my phone. After installing and uninstalling it several times, I am constantly met with the AOCHUAN has stopped message. This failure renders all of the tracking features useless, as well as the “inception mode” and moving time lapse feature which is something I was really excited about. I was excited for this, unfortunately though, as of now, I am considering returning it.

This is a fun little tool, and it does work well.It does work best though once the app is installed on the phone and your phone is connected via bluetooth.The control setup is decent and everything is controlled with the right thumb, the build is orientated around the right hand, although if you have to you can function with a little stretching with the left hand.Since there is only one thumb joystick that functions by number of presses, this is something you will need to check in the manual, and if you do not use this often you might forget what 1,2,3 presses do.But that is simply the result of making a device that has a simplified interface.The whole device works fairly well and with face, body or object recognition it does work well, so long as you do not move to fast, I find with fast movement it will not respond quickly enough but with moderate movement it can track well.The led light that comes with is OK, the lighting is fine and it has a range of colours, but if you want white and you accidentally skip past, you will need to scroll through all the colours to get back to it.The Extension and tripod are separate but pretty decent, although I would prefer if the tripod was big, I worry that a strong breeze could overwhelm it.The quality of everything in the set is great everything feels like it should handle regular use and keep going. I am very happy with the build quality, it is not amazing but it is very good.I do like the storage bag, it is nicely padded and everything has its place and nothing will be slipping away.I have not had any other gimbal before to I am unable to compare this to anything else.Overall though, this is quite nice, it has a decent response to my actions, the movement is smooth and the software is easy to use and not cumbersome. The whole setup feels geared to getting the job done without any fuss.
