What’s in the box?

Included in your purchase is your Gozney Roccbox, a professional grade pizza peel (worth 85USD), a detachable gas burner, a bottle opener and a user manual.

Which fuel does the Roccbox use?

The Roccbox uses Propane or Butane gas. It’s fitted with a Propane regulator as standard but can be changed. It can’t use natural gas. There is a wood-burner attachment (sold separately) which lets you cook using wood, charcoal or briquettes.

How heavy is the Roccbox?

Roccbox weighs 20kg. Thick stone floors, solid steel frames and dense insulation isn’t light and that’s what makes the Roccbox such a solid, reliable piece of kit. Regardless, it’s still very portable with the cover carry strap and retractable legs!

How long does the Roccbox take to heat up?

Your Roccbox should be up to temperature in 20-30 mins using gas. There are a number of factors affecting this, such as: ambient temperature and weather conditions so it does vary. Once up to temperature, you can cook a pizza in just 60 seconds!

What can I cook in Roccbox?

Roccbox allows you to: Cook authentic Neapolitan pizza in 60 seconds. Beautifully char steaks and vegetables in the oven’s intense dry heat. Produce mouth-watering crackling/crispy skin, by rendering down the fat from joints of meat/fish.

    Love it.
    It’s not really portable. You could perhaps use it at a tailgate if you have a truck… but it would be a hassle.With that out of the way… It’s great. We’ve tried the (regular) oven. Pizza stones. Even the grill. This makes better pizza faster and more easily. It has taken a bit of practice to settle on a dough recipe and technique… but we are very happy with the purchase. The kids say it’s “almost as good as (their favorite authentic Italian pizza restaurant).” Which is fairly high praise.I do wish the pizza stone was possible to change if we (somehow) were to break it. I figure I’d drill out the rivets and replace it… but I don’t suspect many people would want to do that.

    I’m making the best pizza I’ve ever eaten.
    You can make the best pizza ever with this oven – possibly not straight away as there is a little technique that as to be learned but if I can do it you can do it. I like the fact that it is well insulated which makes it safer than the steel bodied ovens. And, it uses far less gas than I expected. I’m making the best pizza I’ve ever eaten with a lovely soft bubbly crust.

    Excellent Product coupled with great service
    Bought this after seeing it in action at a friends house; we’ve had it close to 2 year and we love it, makes wonderful tasting thin pizzas in a flash. Service support is fantastic. It’s all online but they’re very responsive and helpful. They really backup their product claims and warranty it. Remember to register your product for an extended warranty.

    The best pizza oven – and customer service
    Did a lot of research and comparisons between the Ooni and Roccbox pizza ovens. Ended up choosing the Roccbox and am glad I did! It cooks an awesome pizza and fast. I like the option to add a wood burner, but probably won’t exercise that option. With propane, I can get my oven up to over 900 degrees (on the stone using an infrared thermometer) and is easier to regulate the temperature versus wood. The pizza is not in the oven long enough to pick up much flavor from the propane or wood.Did have one issue…the propane burner flame was hitting the right side of the oven instead of straight up. Contacted Gozney customer service and sent them a picture of the flame. They promptly sent me a new burner, and this one shoots the flame straight up as it should. So I am keeping the five-star rating.And did I say it bakes great pizza…yes it does! Be sure to use 00 flour made for pizzerias for best results. Also recommend you get the Roccbox turning peel – makes it easy to turn the pizza without taking it out of the oven (and potentially burning yourself). You can see it hanging in the photo on the right side.I was concerned that the oven leg bottoms might scratch the stainless steel cart top that I have the oven on. I cut up some non-slip furniture pads and stuck them on the legs. Oven is heavy enough that it shouldn’t move around much anyway, but the pads help hold it in place when moving the cart. If you are wondering where I got the cart, look for this on Amazon – “Royal Gourmet Double-Shelf Movable Dining Cart”.Another plus is that the silicone cover doesn’t get much hotter than just over 200 degrees (checked with my thermometer). While that is hot to the touch, less risk of getting severely burned by brushing up against it.There is a learning curve to cooking a pizza at these temps. I had a couple of disasters where parts of my pizza got left in the oven. Just turn the burner up on high after you are done cooking, and the oven will self-clean by incinerating any food left in it. Once it cools, just use a grill brush to loosen what’s left of the charred remains and then it can be just vacuumed out.The front of it will get sooty even with propane. Bar Keeper’s Friend cleans it right up. The photo shows how well it cleaned up after cooking a few pizzas.UPDATE OCT 2021: Had it over a year now and have baked a ton of pizzas in it. Sure, I’ve had a few pizza disasters, but it was operator error and not the oven’s fault. It is working great and I am still glad I bought it.

    Love my Roccbox Oven !
    Once you get used to how it cooks you can have a pizza party whenever you want! My first three pizzas were a little well done but once I got used to the way the oven cooks I make perfect pizzas, Stromboli’s, and calzones. I use the gas option for fuel and with a regular 4 gal BBQ propane tank, I have cooked 20 pizzas. My oven takes about 20-25 minutes to get to full temp. (about 800-900 degrees) Although Gozney does not require any cleaning, I take a small vacuum and just vacuum it out after it cool down. if any pizza gets on the stone a light wire brushing and your all set. I love this appliance. No more store bought pizza for me ever again. Gozney makes a great product!

    It works if you know how to use it…don’t count on Gozney to tell you
    There’s a steep learning curve to making consistently good pizza, most of which comes down to handling the dough—making, forming, and stretching it properly. There are tons of YouTube videos out there, but they often leave out critical details while emphasizing less important steps as if they’re gospel. They either skip key parts or rush through them.For example, if your fresh mozzarella has too much moisture or you use too much of it, your pizza will end up soggy. The fix? Squeeze it dry with paper towels. Also, did you know it’s incredibly easy to stretch dough over an inverted mixing bowl? Also, you absolutely can top the pizza on the pizza peel, there are just a few tricks for doing it but it is far easier than trying to get the topped pizza onto it!After three years of trial and error, I’ve finally achieved consistency—my pizzas turn out the same every time! As for the oven, it works well, but understanding the real meaning behind temperature readings, knowing when and why to adjust the flame, and other small tricks make a BIG difference. They could improve on explaining these details, which is why I’m giving it four stars.

    Well built, Solid, Right out of box everything is pretty much ready to go. There are a few pizza ovens on the market all have some great features but overall we found this one to have everything that we wanted including the cool to the touch outside of the unit. If you have cooked on a Stainless version of a pizza oven and accidentally touched the outside you know exactly what I am talking about!! OUCH! It really did not take us long to get the hang of using this oven and boy does it make great pizza! We have been using this for almost a year and have made it a big part of our routine to eat home cooked meals, having the ability to make high quality Pizza really makes the difference, The taste of a fresh pizza is Night and day from take out while being far better for you as you control all the ingredients.We’ve used several Pizza ovens from electric (not for us) to gas and really have found this oven to hit all the marks. Quality Build all parts are well made, Solid and durable, easy to clean up.We did not buy the wood attachment for the burner however we did purchase a small wood pellet metal box for BBQ’s / Ovens so when we feel like a smoked flavor its as simple as put the box in the oven with the wood or pellet of your choice and you get fantastic results!!

    Gas fired Cooks a pizza in less than 2 minutes. We had a wood fired oven in the past and this produces at least and good, but way easier to use. The pizza cooks from top and bottom at once. It also recovers for the next pizza very quickly ( which can be a problem for some other ovens). Thermometer show the temperature under the ceramic (sort of worst case number). Learning to turn the flame down to low with thick toppings to lessen burning. If you are considering a pizza oven, I’d start here. Highly recommended. Oh yeah and it’s small enough to be portable (beach, camping, park)

    I’ve used a half priced pellet burning pizza oven a number of times at families house. So when it was time to get my own I did a bunch of research and very happy I settled on the roccbox. The ease of use for propane vs pellet allows you to prep everything while it’s warming up. No need to toy around with keeping it lit. But really the main thing I liked was the ability to make pizzas back to back without having to wait for the oven to get back to temp. Once you hit that magic 750c it is easy to stay there. I taste no difference between propane or wood pellets so that’s also a huge plus. You can easily cook the pizza to whatever done-ness you like. Less done for kids and crispy with charred edges for adults :)The peel is fantastic too but could use a small hole/loop to hang it on your table.The only thing I would have liked for the price is if it came with a cover and a carrying/storage bag for the propane adapter thing. Besides that it’s a solid buy. Enjoy your zaaa’s!
