    Three year old loves it.
My son has been riding this since he was about two and a half. No exaggeration, he must have put about 50 miles on it so far, with his longest ride being 5 miles at one time. When he first started it took him a few days to start placing his feet wide enough that they weren’t run over by the back wheels, but he eventually figured it out and now I have to jog to keep up with him when he’s “Going fast, daddy!”.Through all of his use it has held up well. I did bump it with the car in the garage once so one wheel is a little wobbly, but that was my fault, not faulty manufacturing. He does tip it over at times, taking a corner too sharp and too fast, but for the most part it is a very stable ride for him.The seat could definitely go higher, and is the one drawback of the bike. He’s almost 36″ tall now, and it’s simply too low for him to really ride as comfortably as he could. Of course if it was higher he would be more likely to tip it over, so it’s probably time to move on to a different bike. We just don’t know how we’ll ever be able to phase this one out! This has held his interest longer than any other riding toy by far and he rides it on long walks every single day.We even bought a second one to keep at grandma’s house. One word of caution as well, he chews through his shoes when riding these! Brand new shoes will have holes in the toes after only a few weeks because he drags his feet to stop as well as push off.Softer rubber wheels may also be nice, as on rougher pavement it has the very loud rattle of a bike or stroller with hard wheels and is probably pretty bumpy for him to ride on. With softer wheels he probably would have worn them down to the white plastic wheels by now though. This is one of the best investments we’ve ever made for an active toddler!

cute little trike at a great price
My grandson loves this little trike, especially the little bell, which seems to be his favorite part. It appears to be very well constructed and was relatively easy to assemble, taking about 15 minutes. It also has an adjustable seat, so he’ll get a few years of enjoyment out of it. During assembly, I would recommend having a second person to help hold it steady while attaching the different pieces.

Made it through all four kids!
I have had one of these for 8 years or so, it’s gone through all four of my toddlers. I’d call it well built! We lost one “hub cap” and had to replace it in that time, every other part has been solid and has held up, rust free! I saw other reviews saying it was poorly designed with the narrow back end. I’d like to address this, I think I have some experience to offer… It’s true that this profile is not great for a child who straddles the bike then walks with it between their legs. However, that isn’t what it is made for, it’s a scoot about, not a walker! Once the child learns to sit on the seat and push with their legs, the narrow, rear profile is ideal. It keeps them from running over their own feet. The adjustable seat means it can grow with your child, and makes it suitable for children who are bigger or smaller than average. It’s stable enough with the wide front that we’ve never had it tip. We recently moved to a new home with a long, hilly driveway, and so far, so good! No tipping, even on the hill. As my two year old gains more confidence in the hill, he might pick up his feet on the way down, so I’ll update if the stability note changes when zooming downhill! I give it 5 stars, any scooter that can make it through four kids with no mishaps deserves it, in my book!

    My daughter love it!
I bought this for my daughter to learn how to ride, and she absolutely loves it! he happily rolls around the living room and kitchen (we do have to watch our feet because she will run over them and giggle), all while saying “Bicycle!”

Good for Toddler Development – Good size
I purchased this Radio Flyer Scoot About for my nearly 14-month-old daughter who is about 29″ tall and around 25lbs. She is also into pushing things and climbing, so I thought it was time to introduce her to a ride on toy. We just received the trike today, so my review is for my initial thoughts and not yet long term use.Overall, this is a good purchase for us.The size is totally appropriate for my 29″ tall daughter. She can reach the handle bars with ease and get on and off the trike — she needed a little assistance in learning this skill, as this is her first ride on toy. We’ve had a it for a few hours in the house and she has gotten on and off by herself a few times. When she is on the seat, her feet are flat on the ground and she is beginning to get the idea of “pedaling” or pulling/pushing to go forward — not this Radio Flyer does not have pedals. The toy is plastic and metal. I wish the seat, at least, was wooden. Its cheesy looking, but no big deal. We didn’t buy the little Radio Flyer that is all wood because many reviewers complained that it is too small and the seat isn’t adjustable on that style. The seat on this Scoot About is adjustable. It is currently on the lowest setting for my daughter. The streamers on the handle bars are ribbon. There is a basic bell with a nice sound. I plan to purchase a small and lightweight basket for the front so my daughter can put things in it.I plan to take this toy outside – it looks like it can hold up to cement. I expect it should hold up to a toddler’s usage on sunny days.A trike like this has great developmental value. Physical therapists will tell you its good for toddlers to learn how to ride a trike or similar ride on toy.It took me about 40 minutes to assemble. All the parts came in the package, all the bolts fit where they needed to fit and it was rather easy to put together. I wasn’t able to tighten the bolts well, so I asked my husband to do it when he comes home. I just don’t work with tools often! The trike is small enough to fit in our Honda Accord, should we want to take it anywhere and it is also not an eye sore in our small home. The red caps which go in the center of the wheel are cheap and probably the biggest complaint I have so far. They don’t go on well and I don’t expect them to stay on long. Maybe I’ll try glue.

Purchased this for our one year old grandson. Although he can’t use it in his own yet, he sits perfectly on it and can move his feet while being pushed, and he seems to enjoy it. Perfect size for 1-2 year olds before transitioning into a trike. It’s very sturdy, nice red colour, but we did leave off the streamers because he still puts things in his mouth. He especially loves the sound of little bike bell. Price was reasonable but delivery took a bit longer than expected.

It’s still hidden in the box as it’s a Christmas present . But it arrived earlier than expected & the box is in good order . A no problem purchase & excellent service. I’m sure the child will love it . Will upside with the larger trike from these sellers when needed .
