NC9 vs NC9 PRO vs T12 PRO
There are so many products from TOZO, it was difficult to choose the “best.” I purchased the NC9 model and was impressed. But the T12 and other models’ specs and features seemed so tempting! Are the NC9 really the best? I reached out to the company, but didn’t get a clear answer. So, I decided to test. I purchased the NC9 Pro and the T12 Pro. I only purchased the TOZO products with the largest driver diameter because I want to hear deep bass when listening to music. I also like to listen to music in bed; earbuds which will not fall out or be uncomfortable when placing my ear on a pillow are a must. Here are the differences I noted, and my recommendations.THE “TOZO SOUND” MOBILE APPWhich TOZO devices are compatible with the TOZO Sound app?- The TOZO Sound app is currently compatible with models T6S, T10S, NC2 Pro, NC7 Pro, NC9 Pro and NC9 Pro Max.- The NC9 Pro Max model doesn’t appear to be available as of this writing.- From the products I tested, only the NC9 Pro works with the app.- The T12 Pro and NC9 are not recognized by the app.The TOZO Sound mobile app main features:- Equalizer that actually works- Programmable earbud button controls- More noise canceling options, including custom mode(must use app to set – extra modes don’t cycle when pressing the earbuds button).PHYSICAL DIFFERENCESThe NC9 and NC9 Pro are essentially the same, except:- The NC9 Pro has updated voice/sound feedback and seems to respond a little faster.- The NC9 Pro works with the TOZO Sound mobile app.- Slight cosmetic differences (more below).- Both the NC9 and NC9 Pro models feature active noise canceling and transparent mode. The T12 Pro earbuds and charger feature a different design.- The overall size is about the same as the NC9/NC9 Pro, but more round.- The earbuds are designed to fit a little deeper in the ear canal.- The T12 Pro features a larger “power bank” charging case with detailed battery stats.- The T12 Pro does not feature any noise canceling or transparent modes.MINOR DIFFERENCES- The NC9 Pro earbuds have “TOZO” printed on the outside and “L” and “R” printed on the inside.- The NC9 earbuds have “L” and “R” printed on the outside, TOZO on the inside.- The T12 Pro has detailed charger and earbud battery stats.- The NC9 and NC9 Pro have simple indicator lights.- The NC9 Pro charging case lights blink faster than the NC9 when the case is charging.- The NC9 pairs once you take the earbuds out of the charging case.- The NC9 Pro and T12 Pro will pair as soon as you open the charging case lid.SOUND QUALITY DIFFERENCEST12 Pro- The T12 Pro earbuds feature the deepest bass, though it’s only a little more than the NC9/NC9 Pro.- They seem to be factory-tuned for big bass with slightly muted mid and higher frequencies.NC9/NC9 Pro- The NC9 and NC9 Pro are factory-tuned with louder, clear vocals and highs, and still have rich bass.NC9 Pro Advantage “Cheat Mode”- With the TOZO Sound app “Bass +” equalizer setting, the NC9 Pro can be tuned to produce as much bass as the T12 Pro,- All while keeping the clear vocals and highs.ACTIVE NOISE CANCELING & TRANSPARENT MODE – WHAT TO EXPECTIt is my opinion that the active noise canceling and “transparent mode” features in the NC9/NC9 Pro are just too good to pass up. However, they don’t block ALL sounds. Here’s what to expect.Active Noise Canceling:- Works great for erasing continuous “white noise” from wind, airplanes, cars, fans, machinery, etc.- Really erases most white noise. Airplane noise gone. Car noise gone. Yes, that too.- Doesn’t block all shorter or sharp sounds.- Doesn’t block all rain noise.- You’ll still hear muffled sounds of people talking, dogs barking, etc.- You’ll still hear some white noise if wearing earbud seals too small for your ear.Transparent Mode:- Great for hearing people talking, airlines announcements, etc. while wearing earbuds.- Depending on the volume, you may need to pause your music to clearly hear outside noise.- Also amplifies white noise; it may not be so great to use this mode all the time.ANC Off – Standard Mode:- Still blocks some sounds, but doesn’t block white noise.- You’ll hear muffled sounds of people talking, dogs barking, etc.- NC9/NC9 Pro earbud batteries really last over 10 hours when using this mode (about 30% volume).- Perfect in a quieter environment when you don’t have to pay attention to others talking.RECOMMENDATIONS – TL;DRPlease keep in mind: all of these TOZO models sound great. If you’re used to laptop speakers or the tiny, wired earbuds included with your mobile device, you’ll likely be amazed at the sound quality difference.NC9 Pro: In my opinion, the NC9 Pro provides the best choice of features in regards to app-adjustable sound and noise cancelation. If you love these features, don’t need the power bank charger feature of the T12 Pro, and don’t mind the higher price, the NC9 Pro may be your best choice.NC9: The NC9 model sounds great and works well. To be honest, I often set my NC9 Pro equalizer feature to flat/standard because “bass +” is just too much bass. So, my NC9 sounds the same as my NC9 Pro. Considering the lower price point, the NC9 is very tempting.T12 Pro: If you must have the power bank charger feature, and the noise canceling or app features don’t appeal to you, the T12 may be for you. Still, may I recommend the NC9?T12: In my opinion, this model doesn’t offer any advantages over the NC9 (no power bank charger). Buy the NC9 instead.MISC NOTES – PROS/CONS- In all models I tested, the microphones pick up loud outside noise (i.e. airports arrivals area), which makes it difficult to use for calling (your friend can’t hear you). They work well in quieter environments.- I have smaller ears. I found the NC9/NC9 Pro earbuds fit better and were more comfortable than the T12 earbuds, especially when placing my ear on a pillow. Even though they’re similar in size, the T12 earbuds seem to stick out of my ears more. They may work better for people with larger ears.- The earbud buttons on all models are very sensitive. They’ll trigger if you accidentally touch them with your arm, hand, etc.- When skipping tracks, I’ve found it’s easier to just lightly double-tap the earbud button with the palm of my hand, or even my arm, than to try to locate it with a finger.I hope this review has been helpful!

Awesome sound, Great customer support and warranty!
Warranty…!My left bud suddenly stopped working this August, so I immediately went, “of course it happened one month out of warranty”. It shows that is charging, but removing the bud from the case does nothing. I work outside construction in Arizona so I sweat a lot, and these certainly weren’t pampered either. I figured I’d reach out to Tozo, worst they could do is say sorry it’s out of warranty. I even purchased a new set of T10s planning for the worst case. They immediately got back to me and shipped me a brand new pair after verifying my order. No hassle, no questions, even outside of the stated warranty. See below for my review, these are one of the best sets of Tozo ear buds even without considering the customer service I experienced.Review..!I bought these back in July ’22 to replace a set of Tozo T6s that one side of the case stopped charging after the wife accidentally ran them through the wash in my jacket. Both sides still work and charge on the good side of the case because they are identical, and I actually keep them as a back up set. It’s just a pain to charge them one at a time and manually turn the off the other bud. Not Tozos fault, and honestly it shows the water resistance of the T6 ear buds.Prior to these I had used LG tone infinums, platinums, and Hifiman buds. These each cost me over twice to three times the price of the Tozos so I was skeptical at first. I just couldn’t keep buying the higher dollar units after ruining them working construction. Now to the NC9s.Size and battery..!These are fairly large but don’t feel heavy or bulky in the ears. I have large ears and usually prefer the largest rubber. With the largest rubber, they sit snug in the ear workout discomfort. They will fall out with severe movement, but for average everyday actions I have no worries. I can go all day with these on a single charge, when with the t6s they would need a recharge around lunchtime.Sound..!These are a far better sounding headphone than the T6 and the T10s, and with far more features. The sound is definitely low end weighted with excellent extension way down low, but is still very balanced mid and high. If you are listener of non bass centric music the low end may be a bit much sometimes, but dubstep and rap listeners will be very pleased with these. The T10s unfortunately sound grainy and are high end overbearing compared to these, and the T6s are equally balanced but lack the extended lows of the NC9s. Imo, Nc9s are king and the T6s are actually better sounding than the T10s so take that as you will.Noise cancelling…!The noise cancelling works ok but isn’t perfect so don’t expect complete silence out of these. It focuses on cancelling the low rumbles so high pitched sounds aren’t blocked, and these are really susceptible to wind noise in noise cancelling mode. It almost amplifies the wind to the point of it being better to disable it outside on breezy days. They also sometimes lose the “noise cancelling” if one of the microphones gets blocked with sweat which results in both the buds becoming “transparent” with a slight pop then falling back into noise cancelling. It’s hard to explain, but you’d understand if it happens to you. These are more suited for plane and bus trips where theres a constant drone of noise that doesn’t change much, but still work great in the field most of the time. I don’t use noise cancelling that often because you need to have awareness while working, but it’s nice to know is there.Transparent mode doesn’t really offer any more awareness or openness imo, it kind of just adds limited outside noise with a background hiss. The noise isn’t directional either so it just slightly boosts background noise in monophonic. It doesn’t really amplify or boost voices either so I’m not to sure what it’s purpose truly is. My biggest negative comment about these is they will sometimes randomly fall into transparent mode with a slight brush from a hand or cloth onto the left earbud resulting in the need to cycle through transparent and noise cancelling mode to return to normal. Conclusion…!These are an awesome sounding feature packed ear bud set for under $40 that will stand up to abuse, and are backed by an incredible customer service and warranty. They would be great for a daily public transit commuter that wants to drown out the bus for the trip, but should honestly work and sound great for everyone. I will continue to purchase Tozo in the future for sure! There’s no reason to spend hundreds of dollars on name brands when these sound just as good for considerably less, and are backed by a great customer service team to boot.

I’ve bought myself so many cheap wired Bluetooth headsets over the years. I wouldn’t consider myself an audiophile, I just really enjoy music while travelling. Unfortunately, the wired cables over time would either break or become loose, rendering themselves useless.Anyways, I decided to do some extensive research into wireless earbuds. I eventually heard about the Tozo NC9’s. I never heard of the brand before so I decided to take a gamble and buy them. It’s safe to say I am extremely happy with my choice and purchase.Let’s start off with noise cancelling, since a lot of people get excited when they hear this term. With the NC9’s, it works surprisingly well. It’s not revolutionary, but for the price it’s awesome. Going outside on walks, I can hear background noise from birds and the nearby motorway with ANC off. However, with ANC turned on, pure silence. With music playing as well, you’re set for listening with minimal distractions. Every sound either gets muted or reduced. A separate mode called transparency mode uses a mic to enhance the sound around you and it works brilliantly. Extremely useful for conversations or announcements or checking for cars when crossing the road! Brilliant stuff and can’t fault it.Next, the sound. These are ruddy great. The soundstage and dynamics of instruments are super clear and well pronounced. In fact, I am currently enjoying listening to songs again, as I’ve noticed instrument’s I never heard before I got the NC9’s. The bass is also brilliant, not too strong and too weak, just right. However you can adjust as you wish using the phone’s equaliser. Overall, the sound is top notch, you can’t go wrong here. The fit is snug and very sturdy. I can do a workout and go running and I have no worries about these earbuds falling out. Plus they don’t stick out of my ears. However, everyone’s ears are shaped differently. To counteract this, Tozo have kindly provided 6 pairs of extra quality earbuds to try. I’d recommend trying each pair to see which fits you the best.I was initially worried about the touch functionality, as other brands I’ve tried can never seem to get this right. After testing, I can confidently say that the touch functions are easy to use and frustration-free. Not once have I accidentally pressed the wrong button or tapped too many times. Outstanding work here.Connectivity is easy to set up and stays strong. I’ve had no disconnections or interruptions at all in the two weeks of testing. They are fast to connect as well when you take them out of their charging case. They disconnect when out of range, which is about 10-15 metres as advertised. There are no latency or lag problems. No issues here whatsoever.Battery life seems to live up to the 8 hour mark as advertised. With ANC or transparency mode on, it is reduced to 6 hours. However, I’ve never had a problem with the minimum of 6 hours, especially when the charging case provides an extra 18 hour charge. The case itself is very nice. Small enough to fit in your pocket. The case is magnetised and it shows lights to determine how much charge is left in the case. Very handy to carry around with me when travelling. The NC9’s are often highly regarded as Tozo’s defining product, and I can see why. They are outstanding for the price, filled with extremely useful and convenient features. At the time of writing this, I am genuinely struggling to find any negatives about the NC9’s. The only one would be that a clearer battery level for both the earbuds and the charging case would be nice, but I digress. In short, feature-filled, great ANC and perfect sound! Thank you for reading this review. I hope it helped!

After doing a great deal of research on wireless earbuds these are the only true wireless earbuds I would recommend.I own a pair of earbuds that are wired to each other and have a flex wire that rap around my ears so that when I need to hear around my environment I would just remove one of my buds and the wire would hold my buds loosely over my ear till I needed them back in again. This was practical for me at the time but since COVID and having to wear a mask all the time my buds always get tangled up with my mask and it becomes an anusance.I have a few criteria that I needed for my purchase and no other earbuds met these except the TOZO NC9So I figured I needed a true wireless earbuds that I could put in my ears that would1. Not get caught up in my mask2. Remain in my ear where I could cancel out my environment or not3. Stay on whether I’m listening to music or not.4. To have control of the NCF on my buds without having have to be removed from my ears. With a simple slide of my finger on left bud it turns on or off the NCF ( I don’t have to go into my phone to turn on or off NCF)5. The buds will stay on (standby mode) even if I am not listening to music or media stream and when a phone call comes in, I can answer the call without worrying if my buds shutdown because of any inactivity.Because of the nature of my work sometimes I can play music (or not) and work with the NCF on which protects my ears from the loud environment that can be around me.However there are times when I work in an environment that requires me to hear what is going on around me. The NCF will work all the time whether I’m listening or not listening to music or not. My earbuds will not shutdown. Most other earbuds NCF will not work if the media is not playing because the earbuds will shut off if not active for more then 10 minutes.I don’t have to go on my phone and look for the APP to control my bud functions. As far as sound quality it is great in my opinion however I’m not all about the sound quality experience just the functionality and it meets that.My review is based on my needs only. There are other reviews that cover other aspects that are not as important to me.Sorry for the redundancy of my review.
