Ease of Use
I used Wandit to inspect my pipes in our house to check if tree roots were getting into the pipes. The camera worked great – I could see images clearly, and best of all, I could save photos and video recordings from the wand to my phone, to send out for estimates on other repairs. This thing probably saved me several hundred dollars in unnecessary estimates. Donât hesitate to get this!!

Price was right, and there wasnât another option anyway.
update: Itâs been a year, and Iâve been looking for better options for a while. It looks like they tripled the price without any upgrades. My LED is dim, not adjustable. The camera is fuzzy (clean too). Itâs got a pipe camera but a wand is for other uses. It really needs a longer focal length. And I wish there were retrieval tools because the wand is better than a snake for that. Underwhelmed is an understatement.tl;dr: This is a great innovation on commonly available borescopes. $26 is a great value, if youâre already thinking you can use it, you will. The standout feature is the telescoping wand.Wands donât go down drains. Snakes donât navigate around bends unless confined like in a drain pipe. Most snakes stay flexible for that purpose, so you canât extend them six feet straight up like with a wand. You can just stick it right where you need it as long as itâs mostly a straight shot.Iâve used my 15ft borescope in countless situations over the years, and I can say Iâve never used more than the first 8ft. I also donât inspect drains and donât pull wire very far. So this is not going to fit those situations.Tired of messing with 10ft of extra coils, I searched for alternatives and found this. This the ONLY ONE I found that was built into a wand. One other âwandâ option I saw only held onto the long coil, which I could see some would prefer the adjustable length of the âsnakeâ. I prefer less parts to misplace or come loose. At $26, I have no complaints so far on day one. The wand is sturdy, the light is bright, the app is uncomplicated, the picture is good enough for most things. If I donât update this, assume any aspects of durability and battery life are probably acceptable for the price. If an upgrade or another option became available, I would certainly pay triple the price or more for adjustable lights to reduce glare, sharper resolution for reading labels in tough spots, some retrieval tools like a hook and magnet that store in the hollow handle, or a case. The camera and snake portion are easily removed from the wand, Wi-Fi module, and battery. It essentially breaks down to two halves. They are connected by what appears to be a 7-pin aviation connector, but I donât know for sure. Nonetheless Iâm sure the connection type was chosen for a high number of mating cycles. It seems very durable. Recalling all the broken telescoping antennae back when those were common, Iâm sure Iâll break the telescope wand long before the connector wears out.I think this disconnecting camera leaves room for future expansion upgrades like better camera, different focal lengths, longer snake, telescoping extension, smaller diameter, and more. I would consider that more likely since this is not a cookie cutter product from a company named from thrown scrabble tiles. I hope this company finds success and builds on this innovation. Iâm also glad the name changed from âMy BedBug Finderâ to âWand-itâ, in fact, the former name was the reason I kept looking for alternatives even though it was what I was looking for in form.Again, Iâve found nothing else to compare to yet and this is a great value for a general purpose tool. In my opinion, it makes sense to have a wand and snake option. But I have more than one type of hammer too.Iâm getting older and dropping screws that roll off under my workbench is tiresome. Iâll be fitting a ring magnet to this and keeping it paired to an old tablet for quick retrieval in my workshop. If that works well Iâll buy another for my tool box. If it doesnât, Iâll put a lip around my workbench.Things you shouldnât expect:the Wi-Fi chip supports multiple connections, but isnât robust enough to stream to all connections fluently. You can barely use two, really. (I only tried this for the review because itâs a high end feature advertised on borescopes). You must connect to the cameraâs wi-fi and cannot use another unless you have two chips on your device and can configure them separately. So no internet during use. (If you need internet or multiple streams I would suggest looking for one configured as an ip cam on your network rather than a standalone intranet access point.)You canât adjust focus or brightness. There is no articulation (remotely moveable head).Only about 12â is flexible so you wonât get past the p-trap in your drain.

Handy for hard to reach areas, just keep in mind a specific use case this is intended for
I have a self-contained inspection camera system which has a long coiled cable that has a camera on the end of it which I use for seeing what is going on in hard to reach areas whether it is working on my car, motorcycle, or whatever random engineering project I’m working on. I thought it would be nice to try something a little more portable, and while I have found this to be just ok for engine work as it is more of a hassle to pair up with the phone than just grab my self-contained camera, I have found this to be better when it comes to certain use cases such as home inspection.Pros:- For use as a home inspection camera this is absolutely fantastic and where it excels. The telescopic pole lets you stick it up into an attic to look around, or up on top of rafters or other hard to reach places, or up into your gutter to see what’s blocking it up.- Connection to my phone makes capturing photos and video extremely easy since there is no need to transfer them from a memory card like on my regular inspection camera.- Collapsed it doesn’t take up much space, and with the bendable arm removed even less, making this extremely portable.- Aside from your phone, it is entirely self-contained and has a pretty good battery life, and it uses USB-C to charge.- You can use it to inspect the barrel of handguns, but the arm isn’t quite long enough to go down a rifle barrel.Cons:- It is extremely overpriced considering what it is.- Since it requires a phone connection over WIFI vs Bluetooth it takes a few extra steps every time you want to use it.- Since the bendable arm is short, this is not that useful for inserting into a pipe, or deep into an engine bay and is relegated to a few specific use cases.Overall, I do like it quite a bit and I’ve found it to be fairly handy as a home inspection camera which is where the device excels. For use as a bore inspection device, snaking down a pipe, or deep into something there is limited functionality since the arm is short, and really it is best for use with the pole extended to look into hard to reach areas. The main problem is the price as this is effectively a short version of a WIFI camera snake attached to a selfie stick, a setup that would cost significantly less. It leaves me with mixed feelings, if it cost about half as much, I’d recommend it to any homeowner, otherwise I think it is priced far too high for what you get.

Perfect for what I needed it for
I didnât need a camera that was 15 feet long. Just something i can use to help me troubleshoot engines and catalytic converters. This Wandit was the perfect size. Fits right down in the spark plug hole, oxygen sensor hole, anywhere i need it without being ridiculously too long. Works well on my iPad and iPhone. I prefer it on my iPhone. Connects through wifi so keep that in mind.
