Great quality. This umbrella has been holding up very well in the North Carolina sun and heat. It seems very durable and has done well with wind. The turquoise is absolutely beautiful. Very beachy!

Flipping in the wind
I found that it really cavitation with breezes so I put a grommet in the canvas near the pole and used a small bungee to secure it. Hope fully this works.

Sub-standard deck umbrella assembly
I purchased this item at the end of May. I have been disappointed with it ever since. I regret that I did not return it immediately; however, with the Memorial Day weekend and summer upon me, I tried to make it work. One thing led to another and then another until I am at this point today.Please refer to the pictures above. The first picture shows the overall view of the installed umbrella as well as my “tie-off” modifications to make it work. Picture 2 shows the center spoke hub and the support shaft. When raised into place with the crank and lifting rope, the taper in the hub should engage the taper at the bottom of the shaft to provide a sturdy fit. No matter how hard one cranks or pulls on the lifting rope, this is the closest that it comes to engagement. Without this engagement, the umbrella assembly lacks support and therefore tilts in the breeze like a big sail. Picture 3 shows the anti-rotation clamp that should prevent rotation of the umbrella in the breeze. Unfortunately, it cannot handle the load of the “sail” and the entire umbrella assembly spins on the shaft during the slightest breeze. Picture 5 shows the tie-off required to prevent rotation against the prevailing direction of the summer breezes. Then this last week, the lifting rope broke about an inch above the center spoke. Fortunately, I could remove the cover plate from the crank assembly, unwind the remaining rope, and with some custom hole drilling and material cutting, thread the rope through the center of the the umbrella and lift it manually. Picture 4 shows the tie-off of the lifting rope around the anti-rotation clamp. Enough already! I will limp through the rest of the summer with my “modified” umbrella assembly. But come fall, the entire assembly will find a home in the trash can and next year I will purchase a different model from someone else. Unless you are a good mechanic and enjoy spending your summer repairing poorly designed products, do not buy this one.

The umbrella looks great but it canât stay up because the least little bit of wind will topple it over even with the water baffling at the base.

We bought this umbrella one year ago. Most of the time i do not use this umbrella. We have used it only for a few times This product has a cone shape that guides the umbrella into its position. The cone has come loose and come out of place each and every time. This causes the string to rub on a sharp edge and cuts the string. This is not a well made product since it is expensive and broke so easily. Now I have an umbrella screwed to the deck with no use. All buyers should be beware of the defect in this product and I would NOT BUY if I know that there is such a huge defect.

This was a good looking umbrella that provided decent shade, but we only got one summer of use. Despite being covered with a custom made umbrella cover from early fall through late spring, the string that opens the umbrella rotted and snapped, and the winding mechanism rusted and broke. See attached photo. iTech Canada said, â unfortunately, we cannot do anything in your case as the manufacturer’s warranty for the umbrella is 90 days after the delivery date.â Iâve had far cheaper umbrellas that lasted many seasons. This one is not fit for purpose. Itâs a nice looking piece of junk. I suggest finding another one.
