Way more durable than I thought
My patio has almost no shade, and sitting at the patio table when the sun is out can get fairly brutal. The table is glass, and aside from the sun roasting you from overhead, the reflected light from the table top is enough to blind you.I didn’t expect much from this umbrella when I bought it. I’d had a couple of others in the past and they tend to last 2 or 3 years before the UV destroys the fabric. If the UV doesn’t get them, surprise gusts of wind will bend them into exciting new shapes. However, in the 4 years I’ve owned it, this has been the best patio umbrella I’ve had so far. Here are the high and low points:The good:-The umbrella opens using a crank mechanism, which pulls a cord that opens up all the arms. After oiling the crank, it operates very smoothly. I didn’t expect the cord to last this long but it has and it shows no signs of fraying. You can set it to whatever opening you want and it stays in place until you decide to close the umbrella back up. Very well done.-The tilt mechanism allows me to angle the umbrella to block the sun as it rises in the morning. This means that if the weather is nice I get to have breakfast outside with the dogs without getting hit with a ton of direct sunlight. I didn’t know I wanted this feature until I had it. Again, I recommend oiling the pivot and the button that locks it in place. Doing so made operation a lot smoother. I used regular household oil similar to 3 in 1 for this and it works fine.-LED lights inside the umbrella are nice to have. I’m not sure they’re bright enough to read by but it’s nice to have the option to switch them on at night. They recharge with a small solar panel that’s built into the top of the umbrella and are maintenance-free.-The umbrella is surprisingly durable. On mine, one of the arms is bent after a gust of wind launched it into the air and then smashed it into the ground. Yep, I forgot to close it again. Unfortunately this little adventure destroyed the solar panel at the top of the umbrella so it no longer charges the batteries and the LEDs no longer work, but the umbrella itself still opens and closes fine and works well. The color has faded quite a bit from the sunlight but it has faded evenly and the fabric is still intact. I’m honestly surprised at the level of abuse it has endured. The bad:-The ONLY bad thing I can say about this umbrella is that the crank is so high up on the main shaft that it’s awkward to reach under the closed umbrella to open it. Same thing with closing it– you end up practically laying on the table and reaching awkwardly up to crank it open or shut. You can sort of get around this by lifting up the arms to get them out of the way and then turning the crank to put tension on the cable, but it always feels like I’m going to bend one of the arms that way.Overall this umbrella has proven to be way more durable and usable than I would have thought. The LEDs are nice to have but not a deal maker/breaker for me, but the quality has been way better than expected. When it comes time to replace it (I’m thinking it will at least last another summer, perhaps longer) I will probably buy another one just like it. This time I’ll try to remember to close it during a storm.

Solar umbrella
Wow highly recommend this umbrella. The lights turn on beautifully. Please read the reviews on how to turn on the solar. It comes disconnected so twisted the solar screen and it pops out connected and itâs ready to go..

Would buy again
As expected. I thought mine was broken but you have to unscrew the top (solar panel) and connect the wire then place the solar panel back on. Mines in direct sunlight most of the day so it didnât take long until there was enough energy for the lights to turn on.

Good umbrella for the money
Purchased this umbrella in 2023 and overall, have been satisfied with it. The 10 foot wide canopy is perfect for our large dining table set. The weight is heavy enough but be sure to lock it down with the stand screw because the 10 foot span makes a great sail….. The cranking mechanism has held up well and the tilt mechanism is easy enough to use. Tilting isn’t as easy to release and return to upright as other umbrellas we have, but to be fair, this one is also larger so we assume that’s the nature of the umbrella. The frame has integral LED lights along each spine and a built-in switch on the pole. The system works fine, I but I was a little disappointed in the brightness. Its poor in my opinion but friends have commented that not being so bright is more desirable so go figure. The solar device is a twist-on type with a rechargeable battery. The description stated the charge was good for 4-5 hours but ours lasted closer to two. I swapped the battery with a name-brand rechargeable and now the lights stay on closer to five hours. I did have a couple of instances where the lights just wouldn’t turn on at all, even on full charge. I eventually realized it was whenever I had the canopy tilted. I don’t know why that might effect things but one other reviewer commented on this issue but it doesn’t happen every time and if I do lose the lights, it’s not a big deal to me. One thing I do not like is how quickly the canopy faded. The description indicated the material was virtually fade resistant so we purchased a red one and it looked great for a month or so but by the end of the summer, it had faded to a dull “pink”. I rated it a four for that reason. Otherwise, I still like the umbrella and given that our other umbrellas also fade, it doesn’t bother me too much. If I have to replace the canopy, I’ll order grey or tan.

Pretty and functional
These umbrella are a nice size and the colors are good. They tilt and rotate. Best to get a heavy umbrella base for windy days. We got 26lb bases and itâs not strong enough when the umbrella is open.

Durable.
Lights do act odd after being outside for about a year. Best way is to test the lights once a week. After that I had zero issues. Colors will fade, we get direct sunlight and any fabric would fade. Umbrella is durable and basic tip, tie the umbrella down in high winds. I have bought my second one after the first lasted 5 years. The second one is just a replacement for looks. The first still does work. I would buy as a gift zero issue.

Extremely sturdy, great value for its money.
I love this umbrella. Very reasonably priced for what you get. The crank to open and close works smoothly, the ability to tilt it is amazing for providing shade as the sun goes down. Extremely sturdy, I live in an insanely windy city. I once left the umbrella open and forgot about it, the entire umbrella and table it was attached to blew over onto its side, and it still functions perfectly. Wasnât even bent. Installation was straightforward and easy.I give four stars instead of five because by the time fall came and the umbrella was put away it had small moldy dots. I donât put the umbrella up every day, and we get a lot of rain. So I think opening the umbrella to dry out more frequently could prevent that, and this may have been user error. Still, the water resistance could be better from that standpoint.
