Easy Install, Alexa Control, and Good Brightness for Patio
I recently installed these Govee Smart Outdoor String Lights on my back patio using a separate string light hanging kit I also purchased. Once the hanging kit’s support wire was in place, the Govee lights were a breeze to attach with zip ties, utilizing the handy loops built into the light string. This setup ensures no sagging, which looks great.The brightness of the warm white LEDs is just right, and the color-changing capability is fantastic, responding perfectly to both the Govee app (for initial setup) and Alexa voice commands. The dimming function works well, allowing for a nice ambiance when relaxing in the hot tub at night.While the lights offer 47 scene modes, I haven’t explored those yet, as controlling the color and brightness via Alexa voice commands is simple and meets my needs. I haven’t had any connectivity or reliability issues. Although the lights are somewhat protected under my eaves, they’ve been exposed to plenty of dew with no problems at all, indicating good weather resistance.The 144ft length was actually more than I needed; it comes in three sections, and I only used two. I wish Govee sold the controller separately so I could utilize the third unused section elsewhere. I purchased these during a holiday sale in 2024, and at that price, they felt like a great value. However, their regular price seems quite high.Compared to my previous basic Costco white string lights (which only had on/off functionality), these Govee lights are a significant upgrade with color changing, dimming, and voice control. The voice control is particularly convenient when I have my portable Alexa speaker outside by the hot tub. Overall, I’m happy with the lights, especially at the sale price – I’d recommend waiting for a discount to get the best value.

Amazing lights. I ordered a non top shelf brand, and regretted it. Sent it back and got these. What a great decision. Their lights are the best quality you can get out there, by far. Quality is in their product as much as it is in their app, which is the part that shines. You aren’t just buying lights, if you’re buying this style, then you have to understand your buying the brands app too, and the app is key to using and playing around with the lights. Their app is amazing compared to all others I’ve seen. Very user friends and the amount of options are far greater than others. Yes, they’re more expensive. But yes, they’re much better. Absolutely worth the spend up people.

So many people like these. I got them because I wanted some outdoor lights that can change color. But they only get 4 stars from me. Yep, they are nice. I strung them in a long line outdoors, around a patio. They look sturdy enough to last a few years. To control them you need an app. No problemo, app downloaded. I really wanted one specific pattern which you can find on just about every set of fairy lights etc. I wanted them to very slowly change color, running through the whole spectrum, and each individual bulb being a little behind the next one in the string. The effect I was looking for had color looking like it was running along the string. Well, the controls in the app are wide and varied. You can change speed etc. Great, but they didn’t have this very common pattern at all !!! The app has a feature where you can build your own patterns and you can export them so the community can use them. But, heck, that app is really hard to use to set something up like that, and a dang load of work. So, to date, I’ve not found that pretty standard pattern I’m looking for and no one has published what I want. It comes as standard on the really expensive popular brand and on just about everything else, just not these. So, they miss the mark a little for me, but we still switch them on every night and run a program I got from the community collection. Be good if Govee rethink the app and what they provide built in.

Great for decoration
These lights were an amazing investment. My family and I really like them.I love that the app has pre-set settings for any type of ocassion, but can also be customized in case one prefers that. In the settings, one can also set a time for the lights to turn on and off which was really helpful. I also liked that I can adjust the brightness of the lights depending on the vibe/look I want to get.

These lights are easy to hang and include clips to further make the effort easier. They fit perfectly into a 10×10 gazebo attached to the struts. As advertised you can control the color and brightness of the lights. down to the individual globe, (maybe overkill). But, the App is easy to install and connect to. Many themes and preconfigured settings you can take advantage of with timers. The cost is higher than many similar products, but not by much. This is a solid product, works as advertised, and a great investment.

Found this smart light from a youtube channel. I really love it. it changes color and comes with different themes. you can even link with the music that you play. awesome!!

I haven’t used these lights yet, my friends have the same ones and aren’t having any problems once they’re installed.
