Good deal but they does have one annoying drawback
I have been using a hard shell plastic cover for a few months but I wasn’t overly comfortable with it as every time I used it and washed it it gave off a smell. The hard shell was ideal though because it fitted my plates perfectly and had a lip that hung over the edge of the plate so it didn’t fall off if you knocked it.These in this kit look great and all 3 combined when packed flat take up slightly less height room that the hard shell plastic cover I had been using. When I opened all 3 new covers they stood slightly taller than the old hard shell which was also nice.There is however only one slight drawback. The bottom of each cover (the part that sits on the plate) is actually hard and so when I cover the 10-1/2″ plates I have, the new cover slides around. Once on the plate and in the microwave it seems ok but I have to be careful when I place the plate and cover in the microwave and when I remove it as the top slides around. That’s a less than ideal situation.I am pleased that this set of covers provides 3 different sizes and that they are flexible in that you can open them half way if you want (making them a little shallower). I do like that the small are large are much taller. However if I use the very large one, it sits on the microwave plate itself OVER the whole plate and therefore is a much lower cover for the plate which may limits its use. I guess I’ll keep them as they are BPA free and they do offer some flexibility.So the only gripe I have is that the rim of each cover is hard and has no lip so they do not fit plates securely. None the less, I’ll keep them and still give 5 stars as they’re a great deal, offer a lot of flexibility, and they stack and store nicely. I also like them in red which was actually a lower cost so that’s a positive too. Just hope they stand up to continued wear (opening and closing and washing) but I’ll update the review in a few months if I have had any issues.

It works, but could be improved.
They work for their intended use. However, there are a couple of design changes that would benefit the product. First, the holes on top are angled outward. This allows bits of food to exit the when the food splatters during heating. Angling inward might prevent some or all of the splatter from escaping. Second, the clear plastic stains with exposed to any tomato-based product. It won’t wash out, even in the dishwasher. Otherwise, it works well and stores easily due to the telescopic design.

Great microwave cover
Very convenient and practical microwave cover! I use it daily — it fits different plate sizes well and keeps food splatters from dirtying the microwave. It’s lightweight, easy to clean, and doesn’t absorb odors. I especially like that it helps prevent food from drying out while reheating. A simple but essential kitchen item!

This is my second purchase of the Tovolo Microwave Splatter Cover as this is better than others that I have tried over the years. It is made from durable, BPA-free plastic and does great to keep your microwave clean by containing food splatters. Its vented design allows steam to escape is large enough to fit most plates and opens high enough to fit bowls, collapses down making it easy to store. We have also taken it out on picnics to use as a shield to keep flys off of our food. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I previously owned a medium sized Tovolo splatter cover. The medium cover covers the food on the plate but sits on the edge of the plate. I thought I’d try the larger diameter, but I feel it’s too large. Every plate I’ve tried, the large size covers completely and sits on the microwave turn table. The downsides are that it’s so big it’s difficult to get out of the microwave when covered in steam. Additionally, it’s very big and difficult to fit in the dishwasher when expanded.Otherwise, the product functions as expected and advertised. Tovolo silicone doesn’t smell even after the first use, unlike competitors.I’ve subsequently bought another medium sized cover.
