I bought this to relieve back pain
Short version: definitely a success. Worth every penny.Long version:After waking up every morning with a stiff lumbar region, despite propping up my legs and using different beds including memory foam, I became desperate for a solution. I considered buying a sleep number bed because I remembered that air mattresses had done decently well for me. The thing is when I sleep on them I deflate them a bit so I can sink in and it kind of cradles me like a hammock. Every air mattress I’d used would either get a leak, or the seam would pop and have a giant weird bubble in the middle of it. The natural progression of thought was why not try sleeping in a hammock?I figured I didn’t have much to lose… it’s only $50 and I was willing to spend $1000-$1500 on a fancy sleep number bed. My back used to loosen up during the day, but it had been getting worse and it felt like an eternity for it to come in. Free shipping is great, but it took about a week. After reading the reviews, I had high expectations of this (or any) hammock. The promise is the same all the fancy mattress makers promise: a better night’s sleep, feeling rested in the morning, falling asleep faster, no back pain. Well on the back pain it definitely delivers. After sleeping on the hammock for a few days, my back improved and now it’s like I never had the back problems at all!On the sleep quality that’s a bit harder to pin down. It’s comfortable as heck, but yet It took some getting used to sleeping in it. I’m used to being horizontal and with a hammock your head is always elevated above your body in a more exaggerated way than a bed and pillow. Further, my legs are above me (which I hear is good for you), but they end up straight with no bend, and I don’t like how that feels on my knees. So I just put a pillow underneath my knees in the hammock and that problem was solved. Apart from that, a good but not thick pillow (so it doesn’t elevate your head more) on the head is all I needed. I just had to get used to the head position. Also, yes it’s wide and yes it can tend to wrap around you, but with pillows in two places it’s not a bother to me whatsoever. The first night it took forever to fall asleep. The second and third nights got easier. I just wasn’t used to the orientation, I think. But it’s been about a week now, and I have been sleeping without my usual sleeping pills, and I have been sometimes waking up earlier on occasions when I otherwise would have kept sleeping. To me, that could be an indication that the sleep quality is better. But I also often still feel tired when my alarm goes off…. like I want to keep sleeping. Maybe it’s because it’s so comfortable. I do end up waking up as I start my day and feel fine all day, so it’s really hard to say for sure.Other advantages of it: it’s somewhat portable. Setup was easy. Can’t say that about a fancy expensive mattress. I might be moving soon and would like to have as little heavy crap as possible. Also, no sheets to worry about. The frame seems sturdy and when the hammock wears out, so I should be able to just replace it and continue using the frame. Even if I spend $20 per year on a new hammock, there’s no comparison between it and a mattress. Heck, by just washing sheets I probably spend $20 per year. I’m not saying I shouldn’t wash my hammock, but it’s indoors in my bedroom so…. meh.Disadvantages:Well I’m a single guy who lives alone, and women don’t like that you sleep in a hammock. They want to cuddle and….other stuff. So I have a bed in the bedroom as well for those scenarios. Generally I don’t admit I sleep in the hammock every night until we’re getting serious because I think it can be seen as weird by some women. It’s pretty long overall so wouldn’t fit well in a small bedroom, and I feel you still need a bed in the bedroom too, so you better have a good sized bedroom as I do.A hammock can be difficult to get out of, obviously. I have considered hanging a rope from my ceiling that I can yank on to easily pull myself out of it. But if I did that, women would think I’m nuts, and probably walk out as soon as they see it.

Very durable frame
I’ve had this hammock for almost 10 years now. It’s seen lots of use, and the frame lives outside year round. I take the actual fabric portion in over the winter, but even that lives outside 6-9 months a year. Here’s what I can tell you. This thing is AWESOME. It sets up quite easily– if you can tighten bolts, you can have it together in no time flat. It’s nice to be able to put it anywhere, without needing a pair of trees or whatever to string your hammock. The steel frame will last forever, even if you leave it outside in the rain/snow/heat/cold year round. On mine, some of the hardware has gotten a bit rusty, but nothing that would compromise functionality. The frame is as simple and reliable as it can be.Adjusting the height of the hammock can be a bit challenging. You have to unscrew the hooks where the hammock ties on, move them to another position, and screw them back in. Not a big deal, except that you’re fighting the tension of the hammock strings the whole time. Unless you’re strong, it helps to have another set of hands. Set it tighter than you think you’ll need because the strings will sag and stretch a bit with a person’s weight.I recommend that you bring the fabric in over the winter or during heavy wind storms. The UV will do a number on it over time, and you’ll end up replacing it. I’m on my 3rd one (I think). The last time I replaced it, I moved away from natural fibers and hung a nylon hammock on the steel frame. That one has been going strong for a few years now with no discoloration or degradation, which is an improvement over stock. It’s the only reason this hammock doesn’t get 5 stars from me, though for the price you’re still getting a good deal.If you plan on disassembling the frame on even a semi-regular basis, you’re probably going to want to smear some thick grease on the tubes where they slide together. I’m not sure I could ever get mine apart again as I’m sure there’s some corrosion in there bonding everything together. If you’re going to leave it outside forever like me, you can skip this step.Like I said, this thing is awesome. Yes, you can fit two full-grown adults in it, but you probably won’t want to (at least not for long). You end up getting mashed together and it just isn’t much fun, plus you’ll be worried about the strings snapping when you start swaying in the breeze. In my opinion, hammocks are like toilets– it’s usually best to enjoy them by yourself. If you have a yard, open space, rooftop, campsite, whatever– get this hammock. There’s nothing better than laying outside with a book inside one of these.

Super comfortable, will be my new nest until weather gets cold!! 5 min to assemble or take apart. Have to keep the hamac itself asked when not in use, cotton rots and gets burn easily in the sun. But if you store it dry, you’ll have a hamac for years!

Awesome! We’ve had up to three people on this hammock, and left it out in the elements for a month, and there’s barely any sign of wear and tear. Warning – the stand is HUGE, much bigger than I expected. It didn’t really fit anywhere in our house. Also, the metal pieces that are supposed to go inside the rope to hold it at either end keep falling out, but the hammock still works fine without them.
Celine Gaghadar –
Delivered very fast, very easy to assemble and large enough for 2 people

The hammock and stand are pretty cheap. They work just fine, slight wobble which I dnt a big deal. Comes with a case you can store all the parts in. Delivery was fast and it was double boxed which helped prevent damage. The hammock itself had a strange smell to it that I’m sure will fade in the coming days.

Love it. The frame and the hammock is big and strong for a family of 3.
