Surprisingly Impressive
This speaker is really impressive. It came pretty much fully charged, which was a nice surprise. I had it plugged in for about 15 minutes and that maxed it out. For its size, it’s incredibly loud, which is what I wanted. The sound is very clear and it has impressive bass for such a small unit.I travel frequently for my job and this will fit nicely in my carry on because it’s small. It’ll be a great speaker for use in hotel gyms. I’m usually the only one in there at 5:00 a.m. and I really don’t like using headphones when I work out. This speaker will be great. I can also use it with my laptop if need be. The fact that it still has an auxiliary (AUX) port and comes with an AUX cable is really nice. You can certainly Bluetooth it too, but if you can use the AUX cable, it’ll be a lot more reliable with better sound.The color is fine, I got black and I really wouldn’t want any other color. The speaker seems rugged enough and I don’t really care that it’s waterproof, but that’s a nice feature too. It really projects well and is seriously loud. The volume control is funky with weird increments, so I’ll control the volume from my device, rather than the speaker itself and then you’ll have whatever sound range you want.Some reviews have cited issues with the speaker’s charge, so we shall see in time. I just got the thing, but so far I’m pretty pleased with it; especially for the price. I honestly didn’t expect it to be as loud and clear as it is.

I finally got around to taking this out of the box. Right as it arrived, things got busy. Expected to use it when the wife and I did 4×4 day trips to the outer beach. But just never got to take it out of the box.Well , honestly, took it out of the box as soon as it came in, shoved it in the corner on charge and forgot about it.Just paired it to my phone this evening in the home office.Warning, make sure your phone’s volumes are down. Mine where up, and as soon as I started streaming music, got blasted with it 6 inches in front of my face. LOUD !After ears stopped ringing and getting the volume under control ——I have had other inexpensive compact portable BT speakers before, they are all in the trash,, terrible.This had soo many good reviews, figured give it a try.Up close, when loud, it’s very bright, with punchy bass, and good mids, not washed out like a “loudness” button does.Moving it away from me, and playing with volume levels,,,, the brightness settled out, and the bass seemed directional. Getting it further away from me, how directional the bass seemed, settled out.Played with placement a bit more… moved to the living room (out of my small office), and how directional the bass is , settles out and it filled my living room. But details in the music also washed out a bit.YES , very very picky nuances for a portable BT speaker in a carpeted / furnished room.. but it just sounds soo great in my office, wanted to try it in a bigger room. Sorry I didn’t get it out to the beach.Getting the volume settle in the office, and it’s a solid 5 stars, sounds great.Filling a big room, 4 stars (but not what it’s really for – small drivers, in one small box.).BUT – Blows away the cheaper BT speakers I had in the past.. frankly they were 1/3 or 1/2 the price.. the 3-4 I had, but they all were terrible, not worth the money I paid for them. I’m assuming they were more meant for hanging on your belt while walking … and pulling down your pants in the process.The controls are nice.. hold down the – , and it jumps back a song easily.hold down the + , and it jumps ahead a song.Quick pushes of either, controls the volume.Never read the instructions, was intuitive for this old timer.Hint, if not reading the instructions.. when pairing it, the name of the device that shows up on your phone, is the name on the bottom of this BT Speaker.I have no idea of battery life in general, or VS Volume.. this is a first impressions review, while my head is bobbing while listening to tunes on it.Seems solidly built. Seams closed well on the shell.Buttons feel good, compliant, solid thick rubber. Should be sealed well.Very thick solid plug with ridges on the side for the ports. Again, design seems as it should seal well.
